The Pharmaceutical Drug companies continue to promote more vaccines but are all of these vaccinations safe. No matter how safe these vaccines are supposed to be there are always some people who suffer from adverse vaccination side effects. In many cases the vaccine actually causes the disease they were meant to protect against. Following are some examples of vaccine dangers.

Polio: 1954 — 1963

Rhesus monkey kidneys were used in the production of the Salk and Sabin Polio vaccinations which were distributed between 1954 and 1963. The monkey kidneys contained the simian virus SV-40 hence the vaccines were contaminated with the simian virus.

During the 1990's various studies confirmed the presence of the Rhesus monkey simian virus in the tumours of many cancer victims. It seems that SV-40 can interfere with a cell's ability to resist malignancy due to blocking a key protective protein – SV-40 can trigger cancer.

The lung cancer, mesothelioma, was originally caused by exposure to asbestos but the latest research shows that 50 percent of current mesothelioma diagnosed cases are caused by the SV-40 virus.

Measles: 1972.

In 1967, Ghana was declared measles free by the World Health Organisation after 96% of its population was vaccinated. In 1972, Ghana experienced one of its worst measles outbreaks with its highest ever mortality rate.

Tuberculosis: 1970s.

According to the Lancet. In the 1970`s a tuberculosis vaccine trial in India involving 260,000 people revealed that more cases of TB occurred in the vaccinated than the unvaccinated.

Polio: 1961 to date.

As reported in the Science Journal published in April 1977. Dr Jonas Salk, who developed the first polio vaccine, testified along with other scientists that mass inoculation against polio was the cause of most polio cases throughout the USA since 1961.

Swine flu: 1976.

The swine flu outbreak in the United States in 1976 resulted in five people getting the swine flu and one death. Forty-five million people were given the swine flu vaccination, of those, 4000 suffered serious physical harm and, according to a CBS television program broadcast in 1979, there were 300 deaths. The most common illness to develop because of the vaccine was Guillain-Barre Syndrome. It seems that the reason for the large number of adverse reactions was the fact that the vaccine, code named X53A, was not tested for safety.

Whooping cough: 1978.

According to the medical publisher BMJ Group. In 1979, Sweden abandoned the whooping cough vaccine due to its ineffectiveness. Out of 5,140 cases in 1978, it was found that eighty-four percent had been vaccinated three times.

DPT vaccine: 1982 — 1987.

In the United States, the cost of a single DPT vaccine had risen from 11 cents in 1982 to $11.40 in 1987. The vaccine manufacturers were putting aside $8 per shot to cover legal costs and damages they were paying out to parents of brain damaged children and children who died after vaccination.

Polio: 1988 — 1989.

An article published in the Lancet, in 1991, stated that in Oman between 1988 and 1989, a polio outbreak occurred amongst thousands of fully vaccinated children. The region with the highest number of polio cases had the highest vaccine coverage. The region with the lowest attack rate had the lowest vaccine coverage.

Measles: 1990.

In 1990, the Journal of the American Medical Association had an article on measles which stated -- Although more than 95 percent of school-aged children in the US are vaccinated against measles, large measles outbreaks continue to occur in schools and most cases in this setting occur among previously vaccinated children.

Whooping cough: 1994.

According to a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine July 1994 issue. Eighty percent of children less than 5 years old with whooping cough had been fully vaccinated.

Smallpox: 2002 — 2009.

From 2002 to 2009 1.7 million service people in the American armed forces have been given the smallpox vaccine. Approximately two-hundred people have suffered like-threatening adverse reactions with one death. The most common serious reaction was when the virus in the vaccine caused a condition called progressive vaccinia, just another name for smallpox. Other adverse reactions have been inflammations of the brain and acute myelogenous leukemia.

Polio: 2009.

The World Health Organisation has had to admit that the polio vaccination campaign in Nigeria is not going well. Some children, so far low numbers but increasing, are developing polio caused by the virus in the vaccine. It seems that the virus, though weakened, can mutate and cause paralysis. So far this year, 2009, there are over 120 cases, double last years total.

Cervical cancer: 2006.

The HPV vaccine Gardasil is still making the news with the latest figures for adverse reactions. As of August 2009, in the US, there have been 12,424 adverse reaction reports. 772 (6.2 percent) were serious and included 32 reports of death.

One reason why there have been so many instances of young girls been harmed by Gardasil, could be because the vaccine is the first genetically modified vaccine to be released for mass distribution.

Gardasil was licensed in June of 2006, by the Food and Drug Administration, for girls and young women between the ages of nine and twenty-six. There is still, as yet, no scientific evidence that the HPV vaccine will protect women from cervical cancer.

This is because the majority of women who develop cervical cancer do so over the age of 48. It could be 20 to 30 years before there is proof that the vaccine actually does, or does not, prevent cervical cancer.

The above are just some examples of campaigns where adults and children suffered serious vaccination side effects and in some cases death.
